plastic diet
NOV 1 - DEC 1 2021
In support of my practice of tending to place I challenged my body to avoid day-to-day plastic consumption to the best of my capacity.
This task itself is nearly impossible; this material is so involved in everything I touch—it has become an unconscious extension of my senses. This task is easily broken as someone gifts me the remainder of a chocolate bar in its wrapper, as someone gives me a bottle of water to dilute poppy extract to drink, or starts filling a to-go cup before I can insist to use my own.
It is a practice in awareness and intention, and inevitably restriction.
