fence walk

2023

fence walk is a 1.5hr material exploration through performance and documentation. This process-based work is ongoing and started with the observation of temporary fences in Tkarón:to swiftly and violently used during an encampment eviction protest in Trinity Bellwoods Park. The posture was learned by city workers clearing the park months later and the documentation captures the first tactile interaction with a temporary fence.

as I walk home empty handed I feel the old edges of myself. there’s an expectation of bumping into a street sign post or having to shuffle out of the way—side ways. head down.
